Beardsley’s Birthday

On the 23rd of last month Beardsley’s Tea Room & Village Shop in Rearsby celebrated our 2nd birthday! Its been a fantastic two years and some of the landmarks for us in the last 12 months included our Royal debut in Syston where we catered for the Syston Volunteer Centre and the Duke of Gloucester who was there to present them with a very prestigious voluntary service award. We also manoeuvred the shop element of the tearoom in order to create additional seating, and hosted a number of private events both here in the tearoom and at external venues. We have hosted numerous birthday celebrations and baby showers as well as our 1st wedding reception, with many similar event bookings already in the diary for the following months and into 2020 we’re both pleased and honoured to be a part of so many special occasions.
On a day-to-day basis its fantastic to be welcoming so many regulars through the doors as well as many new customers who are hearing about us through friends and family which is just the best form of advertising that we could wish for. Aside from breakfast’s, lunches and mid-day treats for which we are mostly known, we’ve experienced a growth in our afternoon tea custom over the last year which has been lovely. We put a lot of thought and effort into our afternoon teas, preparing varying specialist miniature items not available on the wider menu and are perfect for an afternoon of indulgence. We have always offered either a sweet or savoury option for our afternoon teas and this month we are introducing a new variation offering a mix of the two as we know that sometimes it can be hard to make the choice. We are also currently finalising our Christmas afternoon tea menu for this year which will be available throughout December, we will also be extending our opening hours to 9.00pm on both Friday 13th and Friday 20th December especially for Christmas afternoon tea bookings, perfect for festive celebrations. As well as these additions to the menu, the start of October marks the release of our ‘winter’ menu which see’s toasted sandwiches return as well as other new additions and tweaks to some old favourites.
Other up and coming events that we have scheduled to take place within the tearoom include an autumnal flower workshop in partnership with the lovely Kathryn from the village, this is taking place at 9.30am on Tuesday 29th October and you will get to create your very own, autumnal/Halloween themed flower centrepiece using pumpkins! We will also be running two Christmas wreath making workshops this year, both on Friday 6th December, one at 4.00pm and the other at 7.00pm. Simply pop in store or give us a call to sign up. And finally, should you ever find yourself at a loose end on a Monday morning feel free to pop in and join our Knit and Natter group that meet between 10.00am and 12noon (some knitting gets done but not everyone that attends Knits, some come more for the Natter).
Here’s to the next two years!
