Queniborough WI
Well this years party has come to an end as we close the W. I. year out with our Annual General Meeting. Members saw the committee resign, however all except long standing member Mrs Margaret Kirk were willing to form a new committee for the incoming year.
Treasurer Mrs Ann Peberdy read out the financial statement and we were pleased to find ourselves in a healthy position. Secretary, Mrs ’Cilla Lane gave her report which as usual included a review of the year.
Last of all it fell to me who I think has the easiest job of all to thank the committee for their hard work during this last year and especially Margaret for her long service. Each and every member is vital to the clubs survival so a special thank you was made to them for their continuing support.
We all enjoyed a tipple and nibbles to send us on our way toward the start of our new year which will be a Christmas meal in December at Melton Brooksby College.
All change for January when our meeting will be on Wednesday the 8th at 7.45p.m in the village hall when we will hear about the joys of Indian cookery and hopefully do a bit of tasting too!
Do come and pay us a visit you will be made very welcome. Visitors pay £4. There is no obligation to join the club but you never know you might get to like us.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone
Kind Regards
Wendy Taylor
President
