Book of Thanks for our NHS, care workers and key workers

An online book of thanks has been launched so Charnwood residents can pay tribute to the NHS, care workers and key workers who are on the frontline in the battle against coronavirus.

The online book is being co-ordinated by Charnwood Borough Council to help residents in the borough show and record their support for people who are putting themselves at risk to save lives, protect others and keep critical services running.

The book is available via the Council website and the comments will be compiled, collated and shared with NHS colleagues and other agencies later in the year.

They will also be shared on the Council’s website and social media channels.

Cllr Jonathan Morgan, Leader of Charnwood Borough Council, said: “We owe so much to our NHS and it is heart-breaking to know that people are losing their lives as they battle to save others. Many others are placing themselves at great risk to care for the vulnerable or deliver services which are critical to our daily lives.

“As a nation we will be forever grateful to them.

“This Book of Thanks is an opportunity for the people of Charnwood to further demonstrate their support.

“It is a small gesture of our appreciation and I would encourage people to leave a comment and help make sure the NHS, care workers and key workers know how much the people of Charnwood appreciate them.”

The online book can be found on the Council website www.charnwood.gov.uk/forevergrateful

People can also upload pictures if they wish.
