Bradgate Sixth Form, part of Wreake Valley Academy, which serves post 16 students from the local areas of Syston and Thurmaston as well as surrounding villages, has recently had a change of leadership.
Tim Marston, new Headteacher shared his thoughts with us around this year’s A Level results. Mr Marston said “In a year where there is so much contention and angst around the results process it is hugely important to celebrate the achievements of all of our students”. Over 83% of our students have been automatically selected for their chosen destination and will go on to flourish and thrive. We have students that have received a complete set of top marks and a great many who have achieved in line with expectation”.
Mr Marston commented “It also has to be said that because of the statistical process in place this year, we also have young people who have been assigned lower grades than they were expecting. This is a huge challenge and one we will work with students on to ensure that they move on successfully to their next stage”.
Katie Johnson, Head of Bradgate Sixth Form, commented “The class of 2020 have faced unprecedented challenge, through no fault of their own and we need to recognise their resilience, positivity and the hugely positive impact they have made whilst with us at Bradgate Sixth Form”.
Students from across England will receive their A Level results by email on Thursday 13th August due to the restrictions around Covid19.
