This is how we get ready week by week in the new normal of going to church. It is very strange. It has been WONDERFUL to welcome so many parishioners old and new back to Sunday Worship which resumed at St Peter and St Paul Church on 12th July. We meet regularly each Sunday at 10.00am for a simpler service. Unfortunately we are not yet able to resume singing and strict protocols are in place about how we receive Holy Communion. Nevertheless we are all together and we have been giving thanks and praying for our local Community. Each one of you is welcome to join us – just turn up and don’t forget your mask!

Future events are much reduced in number and scale due to present circumstances. On 27th September Mrs Biddy Saunders was ordained at Leicester Cathedral to serve as our curate. Biddy is well known having lived in Syston for many years, some of you will remember her as a local midwife. We will welcome her at worship on 4th October which will be our Harvest Service at Syston at 10.00am. Looking ahead it is likely that Remembrance and Christmas may be different from previous years but I will update you as soon as we have definite details.

Meantime I would like to thank all members of the community for their support and help in these challenging times. It is difficult to get back to our old ways and indeed some of those patterns will themselves need to change, but the message of the Parish is that the Church stands for something beyond ourselves and our traditions, namely the love of God. I would encourage you to come and join us.
