The most wonderful time of the year…
Have you been naughty or nice for Santa coming down your chimney?
We have never been so busy… supporting local families with their roofing repairs, home improvements and home extensions.
It will certainly help ensure that there are not any loose tiles for Santa, his reindeer, or his sleigh to slip on. Plus we know many of you have been checking your chimney (from our tips last month) which will ensure Santa can get down safely to drop off presents and have a mince pie with a cheeky whiskey too.
At this time of the year it can often be about buying gifts and spending a lot of money. For us here at Imperial, 2020 more than anything has shown us What Is Important. Our family, friends, teams, customers and their health, happiness and wellbeing overall.
We recognise that this time of the year can be sad and stressful for families for many reasons. So this month, we have not got hints and tips about roofing. Instead, we hope you enjoy reading some hints and tips from our team to help you have a happy, healthy and restful holiday period.
Talk about it
Be honest with yourself and others if you are finding things difficult. It is ok to not be ok over the holidays. It is ok to feel overwhelmed and ask for help. Asking for help is not a weakness it shows a strength of character. Joe
Get out
Get out in the fresh air and go for a walk… even it is only for 10 minutes. Perhaps work your way up to an hour or a certain number of miles. There are so many beautiful places to go for a walk in Leicestershire. It will not only help with festive overindulgence, but it will also truly help with our mental wellbeing too. Dee
Be mindful & grateful
Take time to notice the simple things around you from the birds coming to your bird feeders, to enjoying a coffee in the morning while the kids play. Be grateful for those moments. Perhaps start a journal noting down three things you noticed and are grateful for each day. Writing it down, seeing it and reading it back again stimulates the happy feelings inside of us. Pat
Chill out
Make time for yourself. Go for a soak in the bath, listen to music (I love playing my vinyl’s), read a book, go to bed early, wake up early and have a workout or whatever works for you. Even 10 minutes a day can revitalise your energy. We do not need a whole day to ourselves, or half a day or an hour, little and often can make a bigger difference. Graham
The grass is not always greener
Do not compare yourself to what you see on social media. Often, the grass is not greener in their lives. We all have our battles and scars. Perhaps turn social media off for a few days or even a few hours a day. Focus on those around you. Life is for living not watching others live theirs on social platforms. Jason
