Charity Walk to Skegness in Aid of M.A.D.S.

Sean Baker, Ryan Flower, Sam Chinney, Danny Allen and Nick Jones walked to Skegness over three days to raise money and awareness for M.A.D.S. mental health support group Syston.
Sean said “We walked 26 miles on the first day, 33 on the second and 23 on the last day, and have raised over £3,000.
It was hard at times but the laughs got us through it. A top group of lads, look out for more fundraisers in the future”.
M.A.D.S. is a Syston based local mental health support group that was set up last year, 2020. They run weekly sessions in the Syston Community Centre on Wednesdays between 10am and 12noon.
Sean said that the group has helped him and many other people with a wide range of mental health issues.
So in return he wanted to raise funds for them as they receive no public funding. The money raised will go towards rent for the room, equipment and courses to broaden the groups knowledge in other areas of mental health.
There are currently around 20 members and more are asking to join, so it is only going to get bigger and better. It is a fantastic group for Syston to have on its doorstep.
On 7th May East Midlands Today’s, Make a Difference mentioned this walk with a big thank you from the MADS group.
