Helping Hands raise £660 for Parkinson’s charity by completing ‘one lap for Parkinson’s’

The Market Harborough branch of Helping Hands Home Care have raised £660 by completing a ‘one lap for Parkinson’s’ challenge for Parkinson’s Care and Support UK.
Claudia Andron, Branch Manager of Helping Hands Market Harborough, organised ‘one lap for Parkinson’s’ with her care team during April to raise money for the Parkinson’s charity. The fundraiser quickly gained recognition with customers taking part at home with their carers and the local community responding generously.
Claudia said: “We wanted to do something to raise money and awareness in support of Parkinson’s Care and Support UK as many of our customers are affected by Parkinson’s, and what better way to do it than exercise. We promote exercise to our customers affected by this condition, as it can significantly improve many symptoms such as balance, mobility and improves daily living. We are so happy to have such amazing carers and customers that have joined us in this endeavour and have done a lap around the garden or in the living room. I would like to thank my amazing office team and everyone who have kindly donated.”
Digital Advanced Control, a local business in Daventry, donated £100 to the fundraiser and congratulated the team. Others on the Go Fund Me page stated their reasons for donating, with Sandra Morison saying, “someone close to me has Parkinson’s and I would love research to come up with a cure”, and Helder Lopez commenting, “I want to give my contribution and show my support to everyone in need.”
Joanne Broderick, Area Care Manager, said: “I’m so proud of what the team have achieved at our Market Harborough branch, raising awareness for Parkinson’s disease in the community and bringing our staff and community together for such a great cause. It’s really important to us here at Helping Hands to help support these amazing charities and give something back.”
