Charnwood Nursery & Pre-School

Recently, the Stn was invited to join the children and staff from the above nursery on their environmental walk to Watermead.
It was so lovely to see how engaged some of the children were with the litter pick and they really have learnt so much about the world around us and the environment.
The staff are excited to expand on this further throughout the new term.
The Nursery has recently launched its own curriculum which has a heavy emphasis on a love for the environment and to be curious about the world around us, along with three other strands (holistic health, love for learning and to have a positive sense of self).
They have been educating the foundation stage children on the 3R’s, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, and they wanted to bring the children into their wider community to apply the skills they have been taught.
They aim to create awe and wonder amongst the children and like to provide plenty of rich experiences, therefore the environmental day deemed the perfect way to kickstart our new term of fun!
Thank you to Chloe at Charnwood Nursery and Pre-school for inviting the Stn along, it was a lovely morning and I really enjoyed helping with the litter pick.
