English Couture Company Open Day
On Saturday 21st August 2021, there was an open day held at English Couture Company. Michelle Pye, the owner of the company also launched her book Ladies Couture Tailoring.
She was around all day, signing copies of the book for anyone buying it. The picture shows Michelle signing a book for one of her students Zena Slade, who made the trip from Chesterfield in Derbyshire to collect her copy of the book.
It was a very exciting day, there were lots of ladies coming from all over the country. It was the first open day held at English Couture since the easing of the restrictions. Customers were able to browse all the new fabrics in the shop for the Autumn season.
The book shows all the stages of making a jacket in the traditional way. This compliments the tailoring courses Michelle runs all year round from the studio above the shop.
