QT Theatre Group

The look on the faces of the cast was a picture when our ‘prompt’, Margaret, walked in to a recent rehearsal!!! Suddenly, it’s all very real and it really is time to ditch those scripts. Thanks to SARIC (Syston Arts and Recreation in the Community), the Vestry at the Old Chapel has been completely refurbished and made safe. A group of us put all our flats, furniture, large props, etc. back into their new home and we were able to rehearse, once more, in our usual stage space. We welcomed Ineke, Stn’s new correspondent, who came to find out all about the group and hear our thoughts on re-opening.
So now we are on the home straight. By the time you read this, the stage will probably be up, the set will hopefully be painted, all the props will have been sourced and the Dress Rehearsal and Technical Rehearsal will be just around the corner!
Rehearsals are now in their final stages for our production of Lockdown in Little Grimley by David Tristram.
The play is being performed from Tuesday 24th to Friday 27th May at The Old Chapel in Chapel Street, Syston LE7 1GN, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets can be pre-ordered now by phoning our Box Office 0798 996 0014. There will be refreshments and a raffle every night and, to make our venue as safe as possible for you, we have purchased a ‘dry fogger’ so all the seating will be ‘disinfected’ every night.
Here’s a taste of what you can look forward to – Hapless Little Grimley Amateur Dramatic Society is desperate for audiences. In ‘Lockdown’, The Chairman Gordon calls an emergency meeting, complete with social distancing, to discuss his idea for their next production when restrictions ease – a touching love story set in a hospital, with all profits destined for the NHS. But, based on their previous efforts, will the NHS actually end up worse off?
We look forward to welcoming all our usual audience members, and hopefully lots of new ones, for this production. If you need any further information, checkout our website, www.qttheatregp.co.uk, our Facebook page Syston QT Theatre Group, or email qtsyston@gmail.com.
