Beedles Lake Golf Club

A Leicestershire golf club is flying the flag for the county in a new national knockout competition.
Beedles Lake GC are the last remaining Leicestershire club left in the last 16 of the inaugural 2022 British Inter-Clubs Mixed Team Championships that has attracted entries from all corners of the UK.
So far Beedles Lake have beaten Longcliffe GC in round one, Glen Gorse GC in round two and Newcastle-under-Lyme GC in the third round.
Their reward in the last 16 is a place in the last four of the Midlands region and a visit to Shropshire champions Hill Valley GC.
Postponed from last year, the championships are being played on a knockout basis with the four regional winners qualifying for the national finals in Portugal later in November.
Event director Kath Tusler said: “Mixed golf has increased in popularity in recent times and the competition aims to mirror the success of the national men’s and women’s team club competitions that have been running for many years.
“Clubs are enjoying the chance to play some competitive mixed golf against different clubs and we look forward to even more Leicestershire clubs taking part next year.”
