Another Successful Bowling Season for Fosseway Bowls Club
It has been another successful year at the Fosseway Bowls club. We have welcomed eight new members, been in three finals and had a very successful tour. The weather has been very kind to us and has allowed almost daily bowling.
Congratulations must go to the men’s teams this year reaching the finals of the Loughborough League, the county two wood triples and the Leicester League knockout cup final.
Our tour this year took us to Torquay. Fifty members enjoyed a week on the south coast playing three local clubs – Kings Bowls Club in Torquay, Torbay Country Bowls Club in Paignton and the Bitton Park Bowls club in Teighmouth. A big thank you to Chris Tressler for his faultless organisation. Next year we will be visiting Scarborough.
President John Gant’s chosen charities for the year were Rainbows and Loros. With fund raising throughout the year together with the funds raised on the tour, we were able to donate £500 to Rainbows and £500 to Loros.
As our bowling season finishes, our out going President Mr John Gant welcomes our new 2023 President Mr Lee Paling.
And finally, the maintenance team must be thanked for ensuring that the green has been in perfect condition for the whole bowling season.
