From Social Distancing to Social Gathering
The last gathering
by Ineke Doesburg
When I started working on this series, I wasn’t sure how clubs would respond to me reaching out to them for a visit and even writing about them, without the intention of joining them (for the sole reason I have already got too many hobbies!). But every club and gathering I reached out to has been so welcoming to me and I hope that I have been able to bring that across in my articles. I was planning to visit many more, but my career has made a massive jump forwards and I have to admit that I am not able to combine both. As the saying goes, something has to give. In my case, currently, all my hobbies have to give until I am settled in my new role.
I certainly have enjoyed my time as a correspondent for the Syston Town News and I hope I have been able to inspire you to maybe join one of the many clubs or gatherings our lovely town offers. And if not, I kindly ask you to peek at the Green Pages, because I am sure there is a club or gathering here perfect for you.

We at the Stn want to thank Ineke for her unique and inspirational reports on the local clubs and societies she has visited while here in Syston. We are going to miss reading her reports each month, but we wish her every success for the future in her new role and hope she will drop us a line or two when she is settled.
