St Peter and St Paul’s Church News

Church Louvres
Anyone walking along Upper Church St on Saturday 28th January might well have been surprised to see someone abseiling down the outside of the tower and working at the windows replacing the old, missing and damaged louvres. The windows have been netted so our friends the pigeons can no longer access the bell room, which now needs a good clean!
We are very grateful to Zack and his company CDL Steeplejacks who undertook the work and provided the photographs.
Church Clock
It is good to know that the clock has now been serviced by Cumbria Clocks and the chimes reset! Hopefully now the quarter and hour chimes will sound out correctly. The big test will be when the clocks go forward at the end of March.
World Day of Prayer
This year Syston Parish Church is hosting this event on Friday 3rd March at 10.30am.
This year the service is designed by the women of Taiwan and members of Syston Churches Together are organising it.
These are troubling times and it is good to get together to worship and offer prayers for our struggling world.
There will be a chance to get together and enjoy refreshments afterwards.
Mothering Sunday
This is on 19th March at 10.00am in church. A special family service with Communion.
We look forward to reconnecting with our Eleven30 families and some new families. This will be a relaxed service followed by refreshments
Easter Day
Sunday 9th April

At 6.00am there will be service of the dawn. The lighting of the new fire followed by breakfast.
10.00am Easter Communion a family friendly communion service.
