Grow Give Live

March has been a busy month for the Grow Give Live team. 
We held our AGM on 15th March where we launched our Big Spring Raffle; the raffle will be drawn on 19th April, so there’s still time to get tickets to be in with a chance of winning some amazing prizes, including two first class tickets on East Midland Railway, and this beautiful bunny by Syston’s own Knitting Banxsy! We have also visited Syston Scouts for an evening of activities, learning about the important role pollinators play in keeping us fed, and planting some cress to grow (we love an egg and cress sandwich!).  We’ll be back with the Scouts later on in April to get started on some serious planting.
We are also supporting Syston Town Council’s East Midlands in Bloom entry, by adopting some planters around town, which we plan to fill with lovely seasonal produce for the community. 
Finally, we were delighted to see that Charnwood Borough Council have approved approximately £50,000 in their budget for 2023/24 to build a Community Garden in Syston; we are excited to be part of that journey with the Council to create an inclusive, friendly space for Syston’s residents to get together to strengthen community links, improve personal well being and learn to live more sustainably by working together to grow our own produce.
