Grow Give Live

Grow Give Live held their Big Spring Raffle draw on Wednesday 19th April at the Pharmacie Arms; the raffle raised over £300 towards our community garden projects – thank you to everyone who supported the raffle with prizes and by buying tickets.
All money raised is being used to promote ‘grow your own’ activities around Syston, while we continue to work with Charnwood Borough Council on our ideas to transform the site on Glebe Way into an exciting community garden space for Syston’s residents.
We have had fun with Syston Scouts, building, painting and planting up some recycled wood planters – the Scouts were keen to try growing a variety of fruit and vegetables, including tomatoes, strawberries, butternut squash and potatoes.
We can’t wait to see and taste the end results!
We also have our planters at Syston Station – the strawberries are looking particularly healthy at the moment
Now that the weather is starting to improve, we’ll be planting up and taking care of several planters by the community centre; some will be fruit and vegetables that people can help themselves to when the produce appears, and others will be filled with flowers – food for our pollinator friends.
