SKBs Kylie Topper Tours London Before Arriving at Future Dreams House

On Tuesday 3rd October your editor had the great pleasure of accompanying SKB, Mr. SKB, and Ady Dayman from BBC Radio Leicester to London to take the Kylie topper to Future Dreams House.
Future Dreams is the breast cancer charity that Kylie herself asked to have the topper auctioned off in aid of, as she and the founder of the charity had been diagnosed in the same month 15 years ago.
Before taking the topper to Future Dreams we took her on a tour of London as the pictures below show.
We started at Westminster and it was lovely to see Big Ben fully cleaned and looking magnificent. A lady asked about the topper and thought it gorgeous and said what a great thing to do.
We then walked down to Downing Street, it was difficult to get a picture as it is so heavily guarded, we then went to Horseguards and got a lovely picture with one of the guards on horseback. A couple of ladies asked what we were doing, so we explained and they loved SKBs topper and hoped it would raise a lot of money for the charity. Then we went through to the famous parade ground and made our way to Buckingham Palace before returning to Westminster.
A tube ride took us to the Tower of London and took some pictures of Kylie there and with the Tower Bridge in the background.
We got back on the tube after lunch and arrived at Future Dreams to a very warm welcome. We were given a guided tour of the house and what an amazing place it is.
It has such a calming feel, like being in a Spa. The yarn therapy group were in the meeting room and were thrilled to meet the Kylie topper, they all had selfies with it and they were thrilled to meet SKB and they all had a great chat. The yarn therapy group were using a new yarn designed and created by the West Yorkshire yarn company who are donating £1 per ball sold in aid of Future Dreams and this was the launch of that yarn and Future Dreams’ fundraising month.
Sam Jacobs CEO of the Charity explained that Future Dreams was set up to help anyone going through breast cancer, they believe that no one should face breast cancer alone, they provide practical, emotional and psychological support for those diagnosed with breast cancer. They also fund vital secondary breast cancer research and promote breast health awareness.
The Topper is being auctioned via their website during the breast cancer awareness month of October, so by the time this issue is published it will have closed and we will give an update as to how much has been raised in the next issue.
We are also producing a 2024 calendar and SKB and ourselves have decided to send the proceeds to Future Dreams, so you can order your calendar direct from Syston Town News via our email: fiona@systontownnews.co.uk or buy one from the Syston Post Office, High St, Syston.
