Syston’s Temporary Banking Hub Now Open

The Temporary Banking Hub is now open at Syston Community Centre
The Permanent Banking Hub will be situated at 1262 Melton Rd, Syston

Cash Access UK, the organisation set up to protect nationwide access to cash, is opening a new temporary Banking Hub in Syston. The temporary Banking Hub provides locals with access to banking services, while plans for the permanent Hub continue to make headway.
The temporary Banking Hub will be located within the Syston Community Centre and is open Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 4.30pm.
The temporary Hub will remain available until the new permanent Banking Hub opens.
It will offer a counter service operated by the Post Office, where customers of all major banks and building societies can carry out regular cash transactions every day of the week.
It also offers a Community Banker service where customers can talk to their own banking provider about more complicated issues.
Community Bankers will work on rotation, with a different bank or building society available on each day of the week:
Monday: Santander
Tuesday: NatWest
Wednesday: Lloyds (pm)
Thursday: HSBC
Friday: Barclays

Cash Access UK also confirmed that a permanent location has been secured and the permanent Banking Hub will be located at 1262 Melton Rd, Syston (the former Santander premises). Cash Access UK will continue to keep the community up to date with the progress of the permanent Hub.
The Banking Hub team look forward to welcoming residents to the temporary Banking Hub and supporting them with their everyday banking needs. They will also be able to keep residents up to date with progress on the permanent banking hub.
Gareth Oakley, CEO, Cash Access UK: “We know residents and businesses have been without banking services for some time, therefore we wanted to provide a temporary solution while we finalised details on the permanent home for the Banking Hub. The temporary hub will provide the same services as the permanent Hub, which we are now refurbishing and looking to open as soon as possible.”
Catherine Voyce, Town Manager for Syston: “Syston Town Council are delighted to be hosting the new Banking Hub provided by Cash Access UK at the Syston Community Centre. This is a temporary arrangement until the permanent Hub opens. The Banking Hub will be able to offer private spaces where customers can speak to someone from their specific bank, as well as access all the regular services that local banks can offer. This will benefit both residents and local businesses alike.”
Rt. Hon Edward Argar MP, Syston: “The opening of the Banking Hub in Syston, in its temporary base in the Community Centre before moving to its permanent home, is fantastic news for the town.
“Working with Syston Town Council, as Syston’s local MP I have campaigned with them for this banking hub for over two years, and met with STC and Cash Access UK early this summer in the town to help move this exciting project forward, so it’s fantastic to see it delivered. This is great news for businesses and residents in Syston.”
