Grow Give Live
Grow Give Live held the last Garden Café of the year at the Pharmacie Arms on Wednesday 15th November. Thank you to everyone who came and donated to the Soar Valley Food Bank. It was great to see some new faces there; we spent a lovely evening catching up on community gardening news, with some new thoughts and ideas about how we can use more spaces to grow edible produce with and for the community in Syston. We swapped seeds to plant out next year, and enjoyed a sneaky mince pie – it’s never too early!
Our herb planter at the station is still going strong; feel free to snip off a sprig or two to add flavour to any meal: rosemary is delicious with roast lamb, coriander is a great garnish to a curry, parsley is tasty in a salad, oregano can be added to any Italian meal, thyme goes well with chicken. Just remember to wash before use.
We’d like to thank everyone who has supported Grow Give Live through 2023; we’ve really enjoyed meeting people as we’ve been out and about at the planters and at the Garden Cafés.
