St Peter and St Paul’s Church News
What a joy it is to celebrate the great festival of Easter.
How wonderful the pathway to the church with the daffodils in full flower.
On Good Friday from 10am till 12noon we had the church open for families to come and follow the Holy Week events. The first activity was to be blindfolded and try to put Jesus on his donkey! Other activities included reflecting on ‘Spy Wednesday’ by coin rubbing, enacting Jesus washing the disciples’ feet and colouring a stained glass window. The final activities engaged families in creating an Easter garden, pictured above right, to take home and an Easter trail around the church..
After following the events of Holy Week, it was a joy to meet together on Sunday morning, Easter Day, with a real fire welcoming all to the church for a special Easter service. This was followed by refreshments and fellowship in the church centre including a hand-made, traditional, Simnel cake donated by a member of the congregation.

Our big cuddly fish was the centre piece for this session, with great retelling of the story of Jonah and the Whale by Reverend Ros. We thought about things that were difficult in life, and how we could use prayer to help us through difficult challenges, using playdough to engage our different senses. We are looking forward to our next session of friendship, food, faith and fun on Sunday 12th May at 4pm where we will be giving thanks for our world and celebrating God’s good creation.
