Tracy’s at Syston Celebrates 25 Years

July marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Tracy’s at Syston Unisex Hair Salon, and staff and clients alike believe this to be an achievement worthy of a mention!
Tracy Harrison began her career in hairdressing at the young age of 12, working at Susan Rose on Melton Road as a “Saturday girl”. Even in those early days, Tracy saw her future being in hairdressing and pursued her training and qualifications with excitement. Working a salon based role and later offering a mobile service, gave her the confidence and the experience she needed, and in 1999, took the plunge and signed the paperwork for 79 College Road, Syston! Moving her family into the flat above the salon, she and her husband Julian, began the hard work of getting the salon ready to welcome its first clients, and Tracy hasn’t looked back since. 
In her time as lead stylist and business owner, Tracy has provided employment to countless staff, several of whom have gone on to run and own their own businesses, and the salon has played an important part in the lives of many ladies and gents, particularly those who enjoy weekly or fortnightly appointments. 
Tracy has prided herself on ensuring the salon offers a welcoming, friendly atmosphere – one that offers that “home from home” feeling – to both new and long-standing clients. We even have customers now, who have been having their hair done by Tracy since long before she owned the salon!
She has offered kind words, great advice, hugs and hot chocolates to so many clients that she now calls her friends. She has seen them, and her staff, through births, bereavements, marriages, divorces, ill health and so much more. You’d be surprised at the medical know-how she’s picked up along the way!
As a mum to Tania and Molly, and a Nana to five granddaughters, Tracy has certainly ensured that we all feel part of her family and the working atmosphere she provides for us couldn’t possibly be replicated anywhere else.
