Get ready to relive the ups and downs of school life this summer when Syston’s very own QT Theatre Group stage John Godber’s timeless comedy, Teechers.
Join Gail, Hobby, and Salty, three spirited school leavers, as they hilariously re-enact their memorable time at Whitewall School. From eccentric teachers and schoolyard dramas to budget struggles and ambitious dreams, this play is a wonderful mix of nostalgia, chaos, and heartfelt humour.
Brought to life by an incredible cast—QT favourites Matt Ormerod, Ranata Maynard and Tobias Garner, play school-leavers Salty, Gail, and Hobby alongside Jo Gallagher as over dramatic head mistress Mrs Parry, and sporty PE teacher Miss Prime. We are delighted to welcome newcomer David Jones to the QT family as the idealistic brand-new drama teacher Mr. Nixon.
This production promises an evening packed with laughs and touching moments. Directed by Leigh White.
We quickly caught up with Leigh White, director of Teechers to find out a little more about how rehearsals are going.
“We are about three weeks into rehearsals now and we are having lots of fun. The script is hilarious, and the challenge of this play is the cast play multiple characters and must switch quickly from being school kids to teachers, back to school kids in the blink of an eye. It’s chaos but great fun. We are also staging the play in a very different way and audiences are going to see something very exciting and feel very much part of the story and the action. I won’t say any more on that right now. I hope it will be a lovely surprise”.

Teechers is being staged at The Old Chapel in Syston (just off High Street) from Tuesday 10th to Friday 13th June at 7.30pm.
