Heart of England Chorus Entertains
Heart of England Chorus are promoting Barber Shop style singing to new audiences. It’s a unique singing style that has no music and we sing in 4-part harmonies. Our group was established over 50 years ago and is changing with the times to introduce more modern songs along with our well-established repertoire.
We were invited to perform at a ‘Rainbows got Talent’ show at the Wigston Liberal Club on March 22nd. It was a fabulous show with a wide variety of talents including singing and dancing. It was a fun event and everyone enjoyed each act, applause rang through the room after each performance. We are delighted to have shared this experience to raise money for Rainbows.
After this performance we made our way to the Curtis Weston House in Wigston where we sang a range of songs to their residents. Depending on our audience we sometimes sing some of the ‘good old songs’ enjoyed by the more mature people, so we took them back to their younger days. It was clear from the smiles that followed that we had hit the right note so to speak. A number of them joined in with our singing with a smile on their faces, it was a joy for us to see such a fabulous response. This is definitely a place we would be happy to visit again in the future.
If you would like to come along to see if you would like to join our group, please pop along to our rehearsals each Monday evening at Birstall Social Club from 7.30-10.00pm. We are a non-audition chorus so please be assured you will not be expected to sing on your own.
Additionally, if you would like to discuss our chorus performing for you please contact John Phillips on 0773 852 6757 to have a chat.
