Heating Appeal Update
We have been overwhelmed and encouraged by our efforts in fundraising. Through the generosity of the people of Syston and our congregation we have raised over £26,000 which represents ½ of the total required and we will soon be able to make a start on the project while continuing to fundraise. We are grateful to @BenefactTrust for their recent grant of £2100 towards the project as well as to the Jack Patston Trust for their grant of £3000 which we can add to the sum raised so far.
Organ Recital
On Sunday 8th June we were treated to a very special organ recital given by international recitalist, Roger Sayer. Roger played music by Bach, Mozart and Handel before finishing with the Thunderbirds theme tune which sounded amazing played on the organ! Afterwards the audience enjoyed Pimms and nibbles, a perfect summer evening. All proceeds from the event have gone towards the heating appeal.
Cream Teas
The summer of cream teas begins! 2pm – 4pm
Saturday 12th July – RJ Vocal group, a local choir will be singing.
Saturday 16th August – U3A Choir and VJ Day Anniversary Exhibition
Saturday 13th September – Ride and Stride
All proceeds from these events will go towards building our heating appeal pot. There will be forms in church if you also wish to sponsor a pew heater or something larger!
Weddings
Wedding season is upon us and in May we had the pleasure of celebrating our first wedding of the year. If you are interested in getting married at St Peter and St Paul’s Church or would like to find out more please do not hesitate to get in touch – Revd Ros 0785 157 3236.
