Armistice Day in Syston

On Tuesday 11th November, Rick from G. E. Gambles and Son had arranged this yearly Armistice Day Service at the Syston War Memorial.
Attended by the Syston Town Council, Representatives of Syston Royal British Legion and members of the public, we once again fell silent at 11am to remember the servicemen and veterans that fought for us all.
The service and prayers were read by Sue Essex and Tony Bond read out the poem ‘For the Fallen’.
It was a small service, but it was wonderful to see and witness this service. A local singer then performed ‘We’ll Meet Again’ so beautifully to end the service.
After the service, Busy Bodies Childcare arrived to place their own handmade wreath at the memorial and had a lovely photograph with Syston RBL’s standard bearer, Noel Bertram.
It was such a lovely morning to remember those who gave their lives for our country.
