Swans – Don’t Forget to Feed Us In Cold Weather
Don’t forget to feed the swans in the cold weather. They need your love.
They can slowly get weak and underweight over a period of time.
We had problems last year with people telling you they didn’t need feeding when they were under weight. My favourite two are still Wild Bird Seed (sinks) and Swan and Duck Food (floats) available at Pet Shops and Superstores.
Please only give them what they eat. In your kindness don’t litter and pollute the environment and water or encourage rats.
Remember the swans are looked after very differently at Watermead to most places, they are managed out in the wild so they can stay together with their partners and families in their homes.
It causes lots of problems to them if they are split.
I’m finding I’m taking them up to a vet, bringing them back and then someone else is taking them without checking.
Happy Christmas and New Year,
Lots of swan love to you all.
Watermead really is lovely and we are very lucky to have it.
