Hats End the Year with Their Fun Filled Panto

Well, as the saying goes “a good time was had by everyone”. Hats ended 2025 with a fabulous performance of “The Emperor’s New Clothes”, written by P L McQueen with permission from Lazy Bee Scripts.
One of the nicest things about performing to an audience, (especially at Panto time) is the audience reactions. With a blink of an eye they can change from booing at the baddy, sympathising with the love sick boy next door character, laughing at the comedies duos and swooning at the Princess. Yes, we had it all, the gleaming eyes and the screams of “it’s behind you”, children and adults were engaging in true panto style right from the beginning. Although the Emperor was eager to give away his daughter’s hand in marriage to the finest tailor in the land, things had moved on over the years. The Princess led the way to her own destiny, a modern woman taking control and ultimately choosing who she wanted to marry.
There followed a celebration dance by all, and it didn’t take much persuading to get the audiences up and dancing with the cast.
Review comments from our supporters included the following, Vanessa “A wonderful panto, very traditional with amazing costumes”, Latimer Players “Brill, thank you”, Jacqui “What another fabulous show, Bravo!!” Jean “Fantastic, thoroughly enjoyed it”.
So onwards to our Spring Play which will be performed in May 2026. Watch out for further details in your local press, other platforms and on our facebook.
