Friends of Barkby Road Cemetery

Hello everyone. What wonderful weather we are having, well apart from the occasional shower!!! And doesn’t the cemetery look beautiful?
The groundsman has started the mow the grass so that will soon start to make the cemetery look nice.
The fountain is a key feature in our cemetery and is available for adoption in memory of a loved one. It tells you keeping it planted up during your adoption time. If you would like to adopt the fountain, please contact Catherine Voyce at Syston Town Council. Likewise, if you would wish to buy a standard rose which are in the gravel runways please contact Catherine Voyce Tel: 0116 260 7150.
We have entered for the green flag award again this year, so fingers crossed.
The Christmas wreaths and decorations have nearly gone now the weeds are starting to grow and there will be plenty of dead flowers to remove. As the warmer weather gets here the flowers don’t last as long.
The wildflower garden will be having a scattering of new seeds during March to encourage its growth.
March was a busy time for the Chapel displays, the Mothers Day display incorporated SKB’s topper from one of her bollards. There aren’t as many different displays for April though.
As always, the Chapel is available to hire for a private service in memory of a loved one, to do so please contact Catherine Voyce at Syston Town Council to arrange this.
Take care ever and enjoy the better weather.
