Pancake Party
The Syston Churches Together Pancake Party held at the Catholic Church was a huge success. Delicious pancakes with a huge variety of toppings were served and much fun and fellowship was shared. Pierre had devised a very interesting quiz based on the shops of Syston past and present. It helped if you had a long term Syston resident on your team!
Lent
To mark the start of Lent we hosted a Lent Lunch on 28th February in the Church Hall. A simple meal of soup and bread was enjoyed before the first session of the Lent course. This Lent the groups have been thinking about the life giving habits which help us to grow as disciples: sharing in worship, prayer, communion, scripture and service to others.
World Day of Prayer
On Friday 6th March we hosted the World Day of Prayer Service which this year had been written by Christian women from Nigeria. We heard moving stories of their faith and we were encouraged to find rest in God despite the burdens we may carry. After the service refreshments were served in the Church Hall.
