Wreake Valley Rotary Club

Wreake Valley Rotary Club are once again holding their Watermead Charity Challenge Run and this will be our sixteenth year that this ever popular event is to take place.
Make a note in your diary of Tuesday 7th July and get your entry in as soon as you can.
Full details on how to enter can be found on the poster, see below and follow the links to the Event Entry website.
The event is now open for entries and has once again attracted much early interest with many early registrations from runners.
Every penny of profit that this event produces is distributed to a variety of local charities, groups and individuals within our local community plus a donation to a chosen International charity as the Rotary Organisation is a truly world wide organisation.
Last year’s event raised around £5,300.00, and together with our Christmas Santa activities we have raised around £12,600.00.
At recent club meetings we have been drawing up a list of charities, groups and individuals whom we feel should benefit from our fundraising and representatives of these charities and groups along with one or two individuals will be invited to our Annual Presentation Evening when cheques will be presented and recipients invited to give a brief insight into how our donations will help towards their aims and objectives.
We will also be presenting our annual award to a local charity that over the years has made a significant difference to the quality of life for a section of our local community by volunteers which will reflect Rotary’s motto of Service above Self.
A further article after the Presentation Evening will be published in Stn giving details of the donations and awards.
