Syston Community Flood Group
On Tuesday 2nd June members of the Syston Community Flood Group (SCFG) attended an event held at Heidelberg Materials UK.
There were five groups or charities present, The Oakham Canal; Green Corridor Project, The Bridge, Rainbows, Chapter One and Syston Community Flood Group.
They had all been invited to provide a display of what they do and offer volunteering opportunities to the employees at Heidelberg.
The SCFG said it had been a productive time and they had spoken to some interested people, plus the organiser Jops said that they hope to work with the group going forward to help keep the Barkby Brook clear through Syston and help prevent future flooding for residents.
