St Peter and St Paul’s Church News

Team Service
A packed Ratcliffe church saw members of the Fosse team gather for worship on the last Sunday in June. We do this every fifth Sunday and it is a real joy to meet up with others from the various churches in the team.
Revd Ian Hill led the service and Revd Tim Day, Vicar of Thurmaston gave the sermon. As part of the service the Thrussington with Friends Gospel Choir sang some songs for us to join in with. This choir meets on Sunday afternoons from 3pm for two hours, led by Greg from a charity called Kaine. There is a small charge of £5 for adults and £2.50 children over 7. It concludes with refreshments. For further information call the Vicar Mary A-Hearne Smith on 01664 420193. A really enjoyable joyful time.
After this really enjoyable joyful time. we moved to the village hall for refreshments, including delicious biscuits, and fellowship.
Cream Teas
This event raised a great £208.
Considering the weather this is a super total.
The event was held in the church and it was a delight that so many people took the chance on the occasional downpours to make the effort to come. They were able to enjoy the freshly made scones with jam and cream, look around the wonderful building, buy raffle tickets and the enormous selection of home made cakes.
Picnic in the Park
The leaders of the eleven30 group organised this picnic in the park. Great fun was had by a range of ages…. playing parachute games, three legged and wheel barrow races, as well as challenging our throwing and juggling skills!! Spending some quality time together, we were joined by some new families, shared food together and were lucky enough to be blessed by the sunshine!
We are so lucky that we have such a glorious place as Central Park to enjoy.
Eleven30 services begin again on Sunday 1st September at 11.30am and will continue every first and third Sunday from then.
