Famous member of Fosseway Bowls Club

For those of us that use the Thurmaston Shopping Centre, this is a familiar sight. But do you know who it is?
It is Tony Allcock OBE who has just retired as Chief Executive of Bowls England. Tony was born in 1955 in Thurmaston and was a member of Fosseway Bowls club during the late 60’s and early 70’s. He then went on to win double gold at the World Outdoor Bowls Championship in 1980 in Melbourne. He represented his country through the 80’s and won eight National Championships in the 90’s.
His Leicestershire friends and members of the Fosseway Bowls Club would like to wish Tony a very happy retirement.
