St Mary’s Church, Barkby
Make a note in your diary – our fund-raising event IT’S BEGINNING TO FEEL A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS is nearly here and it’s bigger and better than ever. As well as all the usual stalls to buy your Christmas pressies, the magical candlelit woodland walk –
not forgetting Santa and the sleigh ride – and, of course our grand raffle – there’s a hog roast, chippy van, lots of refreshments childrens’ games and a bouncy castle. It’s Friday 29th November 6.00 to 8.30pm and Saturday 30th November 3.00 to 8.30pm. What better way to start the Christmas celebrations!!
On Sunday 1st December at 10.00am it’s our All-Age Christingle service in which the children play a large part. Also that day at 6.00pm we have our Holy Communion Advent service when the first Advent candle is lit.
On Sunday 8th December at 6.00pm we have our Service of Light when we light up the Christmas tree and remember loved ones who are no longer with us. Each light on the tree remembers someone who has died and whose name is entered in our Dedication Book. Have you someone you’d like to remember with a light – see either Ruth or Sarah our churchwardens.
