Put the fun in run

.. because Thrussington Fun Run is back!! ENTRIES ARE NOW OPEN TO ENTER THE FUN RUN ON:Saturday 7th March from 2pm. Last year Thrussington Fun Run saw almost 300 people of all ages enter its race – taking runners across country, through ditches and over haybales! It raised over £2,000 for two charities: Thrussington School and Jac Bach – a children’s charity supporting children with life changing illnesses. This year the fun run is again supporting these charities. We are therefore very grateful to our main sponsors: Leicester Garden Design; Charles Bentley & Son Limited; Raylec Electrical Limited; Buildbase Syston; East Midlands Airport and also for the use of the field by kind permission of The Rudkin Family. This means that all money raised will go to our worthy causes. Thrussington Fun Run has proved a very popular event. There are 5 races, the first starting at 2pm and is open to all ages. Race 1= 2pm- pre-school – School year 2 Race 2= 2.20pm- school year 3 and 4 Race 3 = 3pm – school year 5 and 6 Race 4 = 3.20pm – school year 7 – 17 years of age Race 5= 3.40pm – Adults and VET 50+ (times are approximate)Children school year 6 and under run one lap of the ¾ of a mile course. School year 7 up to adults run two laps of the ¾ miles course (1 ½ miles).  Everyone who completes the course receives a medal and post-race treats. Hot and cold refreshments will be available in the village hall during the event. Don’t be fooled serious runners this is not too easy for you, it’s very fast and furious, but it’s great fun. In race 4 and 5 there is also a £10 cash prize for the fastest runner who beats the course record of 9 mins and 22 seconds… Now there’s a challenge………. If you are new to running or an old hand; very young or very old; give it a go and join the fun as an individual or enter your family as a team or round up friends from school and go for the school team trophy. Entries cost £5 before 23 February and £7 after Entries close at 12 noon on Thursday 5th March.
