Barkby United Cricket
In what has been a strange season shortened by the Corona virus and despite restrictions the season has been quite successful for Barkby United.
We have recruited several new senior members and our junior membership has risen to 60 members.
A great addition to our playing membership is Matthew Hoggard and his son Ernie, Matthew is a former England, Yorkshire and Leicestershire player, both turning out for us this season.
Our second team won their division of the Covid cup and our Sunday side finished as runners up in the Grantham and Melton league.
We also held a very successful six a side competition which resulted in us also raising £400 for LOROS, as well as a substantial amount for club funds.
Junior practise nights have been a great success run by Scott Moore of CEL coaching, who also organises our senior training nights.
We will be starting indoor training sessions in January 2021. Anyone interested in joining our club can obtain details from Scott Moore on: 07400 081918 or Jack Wood on: 07885 673883
Club chairman Hugh Asher said “I am very pleased how our club members coped with the restrictions put in place and most Saturdays we managed to put out three teams and on Sundays two teams.”
