Covid Wedding
We received a message at the Stn regarding a local couple, Scott Walker and Sandi Hall who had been planning their wedding on Saturday 28th November at St Peter and St Paul Church.
The mother of the groom, Wendy explained that in order to beat the second lockdown, Canon Lee Francis-Dehquani helped them to pull in an 11th hour wedding at 1pm on Wednesday 4th November. To add to the excitement or quirky part is that Sandi was on night shift at the hospital on the 3rd, then she got married at 1pm on the 4th before returning to go on a night shift again that night!
The weather was very kind to the wedding party which numbered just 15 with only parents, brothers, sisters and three bridesmaids but with no partners. They planned to toast the happy couple with a drink and a bite to eat afterwards.
However, they have a big reception planned for the 27th November 2021 at Rothley Court and a blessing at the church.
So lovely to be able to share this joyous occasion of a wedding just before lockdown 2!
