Another Journey for LOROS – Lands End to John o’Groats – an update

Eleven weeks after setting off on 13th April – Maureen’s 80th birthday – Maureen, Rachael and Faith are still on track to complete their journeys by 19th July, the 23rd anniversary of when Jim passed away in LOROS. Having started at her home in Hull, Faith has now ‘cycled’ and ‘walked’ 77 miles of Captain Sir Tom’s ‘100 Challenge’ and is ‘travelling’ down the A46 towards LOROS in Leicester. The only mishap so far was when she fell off her bike going round a sharp bend! Having ‘pedalled’ 342 miles each, Rachael is ‘heading’ towards Manchester and Maureen is just south of Moffat ‘heading’ towards Ecclefechan! With the recent heatwave, they are very glad this is a virtual journey!
So far they have raised £285 of their £500 target and would like to thank everyone who has supported them. Within the next three weeks they hope they can achieve their target of £500 for this very worthwhile cause.
Donations can be made via their Just Giving page – www.justgiving.com/fundraising/maureen-lawson1 or cheques made payable to LOROS (with Maureen’s ‘Another Journey for LOROS’ on the back) may be sent to Syston Town News, 55 Goodes Lane, Syston, Leics. LE7 2JL, and they will forward them to her.
