Friends of Barkby Road Cemetery
Hello everybody it’s Ros again. How are you all doing now that the restrictions are being lifted? If you’ve got some time free why not pop along to seek some peace and tranquilly in the Chapel.
Not a lot has happened since I last wrote other than, we now have a date for the redecoration. The Chapel will be closed for the weekend of 14th and 15th August to allow for this redecoration to happen, I for one can’t wait.
The cemetery is beautifully maintained by Andy and ourselves, most of the weeds and grass continue to grow so every weed that you can remove helps us, also any dead flowers or wreaths could be removed and put into the bins would also be helpful.
We are also looking into having a tribute of a mosaic rainbow made, hope everlasting, placed in a cemetery.
The Chapel has a summer theme for the display – we need to enjoy the sunshine and flowers as autumn will soon be upon us. Have a lovely month everyone.
The light in Chapel has now been dedicated to councillor Maureen Pacey for all her hard work for Syston.
Just a point to remember, the Chapel is available for hire for your own personal celebrations. If you would like to hire the Chapel, please ask Catherine Voyce at the Syston Town Council.
