Wreake Runners Couch to 5k Course

Ever wanted to start running but lacked motivation or didn’t know where to start? Joining an organised couch to 5k could be exactly what you need. Whether you have never run before or looking for a new way to improve your physical and mental health, couch to 5k is for everyone. Joining the couch to 5k challenge can help to boost your confidence and self-belief, as you prove to yourself that you can set yourself a target and achieve that goal.
Wreake Runners are launching their latest couch to 5k, meeting every Wednesday, 6.45pm at the Sports Pavillion, Necton Street in Syston. Starting on 13th October, the 10-week course will take you through to your parkrun graduation in December! The perfect way to get fit for the festive season and beyond. The first week involves only running for 1 minute at a time and walking in-between to gradually build fitness and making the course achievable from the start. The friendly run leaders will support you every week to help you complete the 10 weeks. You will need a good pair of trainers and comfortable sports clothing.
