007 James Bond Charity Evening

Joseph and Blake

On Friday 21st October a ‘007 James Bond’ Charity Evening was held at Syston and District Social Club in aid of Leicester Royal Infirmary children’s ward 14.
This is the Ward that our two sons, Joseph and Blake, attend on a regular basis when unwell. They both suffer from a rare genetic metabolic condition known as MCCAD.
Alongside the charity evening, Eastfield School Thurmaston held a ‘non-uniform day’, Cherry Tree Nursery Thurmaston held a raffle and our niece Ella Kalsi donated her hair to ‘The Little Princess Trust’ to make wigs for children suffering hair loss due to medical conditions. There was also an art auction and various other generous donations that contributed to the monies raised. Joseph and Blakes grandparents, Rob and Jane Pettit, organised the raffle with donations from local businesses, friends and family.
As a whole, a grand total of £2067 was achieved.
We would like to thank our friends Carl Moore and Kerry Shipley who organised the night and entertainment, with Kerry putting on a fantastic ‘Shirley Bassey Tribute’ in addition to dancers from ‘Studio 79’.
We would also like to thank Syston Social Club for the use of the room and the staff for their hard work and support, including the table and room adornments.
