Global Pantry

More and more people are talking about the CHATTY CAFE scheme. This is a growing national initiative to change loneliness and  isolation into company and sharing social time when you go to a participating café locally. (Look for the tea cup logo).
Chatty Cafés appeal to everyone of any age or circumstance as it’s free and for anyone who doesn’t see enough people in their day/week,  whether you don’t speak to people from one day to the next, maybe work from home and need a break, or need a rest from technology to connect with humans, or perhaps just miss a friendlier world.
By combining cosy cafés with a hosting volunteer, at certain regular times, this is a win-win initiative for people who simply fancy a chat and natter when they go out to a café – to know that someone will be there to greet you with a smile and chat, it can lift your day. It’s great for supporting your local businesses too.
In February, the Global Pantry’s ‘Chatty Café Wednesday’ based at Churchview Plant Nursery, Barkby, will resume after the winter break. So why not pop along to the warm, friendly café whilst also choosing your new plants or looking around the vintage emporium.
A Chatty Café is a good option for mental well being in these challenging times and saves keeping warm at home.
Chatty Café sessions here will now also offer:
Games and Quizzes every 2nd Wednesday
Knitting and Crochet every 4th Wednesday

As well as all the usual chatter every week. Hosted 10 – 12 noon each Wednesday.
You are welcome to come along and say hello!
