Match Day Mascot Experience

Alfie Angrave Boot, aged 10 of Broad Street, Syston recently had an amazing experience when he was chosen by Leicester City Football Club to be a match day mascot for their home game against Newcastle United on Boxing Day.
It has been a tough time for him recently given his young age, as he lost both his Grandma and Grandad earlier this year, and prior to this his Great Grandma (who was 104 when she sadly passed away), as well as his special Uncle.
As a family we knew Christmas this year would inevitably be different without the ones we love, so when Alfie got the news inviting him to be a mascot it was perfect timing, and although he was a little nervous he was very excited!
He is a passionate footballer himself, playing for Riverside Buzzards in Syston and training with Christian Fuchs’ Fox Academy, alongside being a huge LCFC fan!
He had a fantastic day at the King Power Stadium (escorted by his Dad Antony who was just as excited) meeting Filbert Fox, Brendan Rogers and all the players including his favourite James Maddison as the photograph below shows.
Alfie has shown great resilience and courage to cope during such a difficult time and as a family we are all very proud of him.
