Syston in Bloom & Station Adopters

Together with Bhavna Chauhan our new Chairperson, we have achieved funding for new planters at the railway station.
We started in July, by achieving £1000 from the Charnwood Members Grants through Simon Bradshaw and Ken Pacey. Alexa, Community Ambassador for EMR suggested we applied for match funding to enable us to replace our planters with Amberol ones, similar to the ones along the brook railings.
These are very expensive but after a long slog of form filling and jumping through hoops, funding from East Midlands Railway (EMR) and Community Rail Network (CRM) has been approved which will give us a total of £4000.
The new planters have been ordered and are due to arrive soon. Hopefully, in time for us to fill them with Spring bedding.
We would like to thank councillors Simon Bradshaw and Ken Pacey, as well as EMR and CRN in helping us raise these much needed funds.
