The Grosvenor Snooker Club and Lounge
It all started way back in 1953 when Ernest Wade purchased 1267 – 1269 Melton Road, Syston and immediately altered the front of the premises to form the shop previously known as Syston Cabinet Co. Ltd.
This proved successful and further alternations were made in the early Eighties, including a large warehouse at the rear of the premises.
Due to the demise of the independent furniture retailers it was decided to transform the warehouse into a Snooker Club and Bar and “The Grosvenor Snooker Club” opened in 1988. With the gradual success of the Club, further alterations transpired, not least the new function room and lounge area built in 2020.
In 2022 the bar area has been extended internally to form a larger, more comfortable environment. There is an outdoor seating area adjacent to a medium sized carpark – which all customers are required to obtain a parking permit from inside the premises.
We now also offer a selection of bar meals Monday – Friday 10am – 5pm. These hours may be extended in the near future.
Full heating and air conditioning has been installed in all areas to ensure the comfort of our customers all year round.
The Grosvenor Snooker Club is no longer a members only club, therefore open for all – although children under 10 are not permitted in the snooker and bar area – restrictions apply for 10 – 17 year olds.
After 35 years – we proudly remain a family run business and the fourth generation are now gradually becoming involved in the expansion.
