Charnwood Borough Council Exciting Events Planned for 2023

Charnwood residents can look forward to a series of exciting events taking place in the year ahead.
From speciality markets and car shows to traditional favourites like Loughborough Fair and the Loughborough Christmas lights switch-on, there is something for everyone in 2023.
Many of the events are being organised by Charnwood Borough Council and Love Loughborough.
One of the first events for the year was the Vegan Market on Sunday 12th March which took place in Loughborough town centre, followed by a Bike Meet in the town on 23rd April. Pinder’s Circus is also returning to Southfields Park in April.
The Coronation Weekend is over the second weekend of May when the country is being urged to celebrate the crowning of King Charles III. The Council is planning to hold a special, themed market on Saturday 6th May.
Later in the year there’s a car show and an event to mark the 100th anniversary of the Carillon Tower is being planned for July.
The Council’s Living Loughborough project is worth £2.87m of investment into the town centre. This will see the Loughborough becoming a dynamic, pleasant, safe social hub where residents and visitors can choose to meet, eat, be entertained and shop.
An Urban Plaza will be created with more seating along with the use of semi-permanent stalls to encourage pop-ups and street activity. You can find out more information about the Living Loughborough project on the Council’s website.

October 2023 – Diwali Lights Switch-On. Loughborough town centre. Details to be confirmed.
October 2023 – Loughborough Monopoly released

12th November – Remembrance Parade and Service. Queen’s Park and Loughborough town centre
25th November – 7th January – Peter Pan pantomime at Loughborough Town Hall
26th November – Christmas lights switch-on. Loughborough town centre
3rd December – Santa Run. Loughborough town centre.
