Defibrillator Installed in Memory of Michael Billingham
On Monday 20th February a group of residents at St Peters Court gathered to see the dedication of a defibrillator in memory of Michael Billingham (known to most as Mick).
Mick had been a resident at St. Peters Court since 2016.
He had lived in Syston for over 50 years and was a familiar face to many. He originally lived on Sandford Road. Mick was a regular in all the Working Men’s Clubs in Syston and then later in The Grosvenor, just up from St Peters Court.
Sadly Mick died following a cardiac arrest which occurred while sitting outside St. Peters Court in August 2022, he was 77.
The Family have used Michael’s legacy to fund the supply of a defibrillator which is installed on the wall, by the doorway, outside St Peters. It is available for all St Peter’s residents and the local community.
Our pictures show some of the residents with Mick’s Nephew Robert Williams, below, a close up of the defibrillator and the memorial plaque, left, and a picture of Mick.
