Age Concern Syston
Age Concern Syston is a small local independent charity established for more than 40 years not to be confused with the national charity of Age UK. It is run by local people for local people.
They have friendly, approachable staff with a wealth of experience who will go the extra mile to support you. If they can’t help they aim to point you in the direction of someone who can.
Age Concern Syston rely on their own fundraising, grants and donations from local business and grateful clients.
They are based at The Methodist Church Centre, High St, Syston. The office opening hours are 9.00am to 12.30pm Monday to Friday, tel: 0116 260 1476.
They provide a range of help and advice for residents of Syston and surrounding local areas, age 55 and upwards. They can arrange specialist support to check your benefit entitlements and help to apply for things such as attendance allowance and carers allowance.
Age Concern Syston have a popular and friendly coffee morning for the elderly community every Wednesday 10.00am till 11.30am where they have varied entertainment and guest speakers.
They have their own disabled friendly minibus which is used for outings for members (£10 annual membership). They also run three daycare groups where they take those who are housebound or less able out on trips or for lunch.
