Party thanks, and Pudding and Panto still to come!
It was such a joy to welcome so many people to our 70th birthday party on Sunday 29th October! People pored over the scrapbooks, giggled at the photos, looked through the programmes and there were many shouts of ‘Oh, I remember that one!’
We enjoyed a wonderful buffet and a glass or two of fizz, thanks to Lesley Smith who always provides us with fabulous food, and the most delicious cake, from Kerry’s Celebration Cakes. And, to add icing to our (delicious) cake, we enjoyed the amazing plaque that Syston Knitting Banxy made for us and displayed on the railings by the Methodist Church. It was a very fitting tribute as it lit up at night!
We now have it at the Chapel and will be finding a secure way to display it for generations to come. We also welcomed Fiona, from Stn, who has promised to review our next plays for us.
Talking of which, rehearsals are coming to an end for our two plays, being staged from 5th to 8th December. Everyone is now ‘off the book’ and finishing touches are being put in place. You are guaranteed a good laugh when you come to see us, as you’re getting a double-helping of David Tristram!
